International parliamentary scholarships (IPS) in Germany – Opportunity for young graduates

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Slovenia announced the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) programme awarded by the German Bundestag.

The programme provides young graduates of higher education institutions with the opportunity to gain insight into the German parliamentary system in both theory and practice, and to prepare for active participation in public life in Slovenia.

Programme duration: 1 March 2027 – 31 July 2027

Location: Berlin (in cooperation with Humboldt University of Berlin, Free University of Berlin, and Technical University of Berlin)

Eligibility criteria:

  • completed university degree
  • under 30 years of age at the start of the programme
  • excellent knowledge of the German language
  • strong interest in public and political life

Around 120 participants from approximately 50 countries take part in the programme each year.

Scholarship benefits:

  • monthly scholarship of €700
  • free accommodation
  • insurance coverage (accident and liability insurance)
  • reimbursement of travel costs to and from Berlin

The IPS programme offers a unique opportunity to experience parliamentary work at the heart of German democracy and to gain valuable international experience.
