Study in Slovenia participated at the annual higher education fair – Days of Education and Career in Skopje from 14 utill 16 March. This was the perfect opportunity to speak with potential students, to present the requirements for enrolment, admission procedures, study programmes, scholarships for mobility (CEEPUS, bilateral, ERASMUS+) and the scholarships for Macedonian students that would like to study their Masters or PhD in Slovenia and scholarships for descendants of Slovenian emigrants to Macedonia.
This year the second protocol on cooperation in the field of education has been signed between the two countries, with the primary purpose is to equalize the Slovenian/EU and Macedonian citizens in terms of costs of studies, which means that there are no tuition fees for the 1st and 2nd level of full-time studies. Thus, in the academic year 2015/16 in Slovenia we have 640 Macedonian citizens studying in Slovenia.
During the fair, we had the opportunity to host the professor and teacher of Slovene language at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, prof. dr. Lidija Arizankovska. We discussed further cooperation and student exchange. The Consul Gregor Klemenčič (the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Skopje) also visited our booth together with the colleagues from the consular department, to discuss and help promote the Slovenian higher education in Macedonia.
We enjoyed Skopje, the city and the local food. It was quite an experience!
