Austrian scholarships for academic year 2027/2028

Austrian Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research is offering scholarships for students, graduates and researchers for academic year 2027/28.

Applications and further information are available through the Austrian scholarship and research funding portal grants.at, which is available in both German and English. In addition to scholarship programmes funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research, the portal also provides information on scholarship opportunities offered by other institutions.

Available scholarship programmes

The following scholarship programmes are available foracademic year 2027/2028:

• Franz Werfel Scholarship – applicants from all countries worldwide
• Ernst Mach Scholarship – applicants from all countries worldwide
• Ernst Mach Scholarship for studying at an Austrian University of Applied Sciences – applicants from non-European countries and Ukraine
• Ernst Mach Follow-up Scholarship (EZA) – applicants from developing countries outside Europe, as defined by the OECD DAC list
• Ernst Mach Scholarship – ASEA-UNINET – applicants eligible under the ASEA-UNINET programme
