Chinese Government scholarship opportunities for Slovenian candidates for the 2026/2027 academic year

Study in Slovenia is pleased to inform prospective students that, in accordance with the latest cooperation program between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China in the fields of culture and education, the Chinese Government will offer five (5) Country-specific Scholarships to Slovenian candidates for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Slovenia has provided the following updated application procedures, which all applicants must carefully follow:

1. Pre-admission letter requirement

All candidates must obtain a Pre-Admission Letter from their chosen Chinese university.

Candidates may apply only upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, issued in the form of a note or letter by 26 January 2026.

The Pre-Admission Letter must be secured no later than 15 February 2026.

2. Instructions for the scholarship information system

Applicants must follow the guidelines provided in the document Instructions for Chinese Government Scholarship Information System, which will be shared by the Ministry.

The “Agency Number” included in this document is essential for completing the online application.

3. Submission of application documents

All required application documents must be submitted through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System by 16 February 2026, in accordance with the document Chinese Government Scholarship Application.

The Ministry will distribute this document to all candidates.

4. Submission of serial numbers to the embassy

After completing the online application, candidates will receive a Serial Number.

The Ministry is required to submit all Serial Numbers to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China by 20 February 2026 for official review and confirmation of the applications.

5. CSCA test requirement for undergraduate applicants

Candidates applying for bachelor’s degree programs must register for and complete the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) test before the application deadline at www.csca.cn. A valid Score Report is mandatory.

Applicants should consult their target institutions regarding required test subjects for their selected major.

The CSCA test will be held on 21 December 2025 or 25 January 2026.
