Study in Slovenia national initiative is growing each year. We are participating and presenting study options in Slovenia at many events – fairs, conferences, webinars… The numbers of potential and enrolled students are rising every year. University of Ljubljana

The University of Ljubljana offers a wide range of bachelor, master and doctoral programmes covering all fields of study: Natural Science, Technology and Engineering, Social Sciences, Humanities, Medicine, Art.

Impressions

Established in the year 1919, today with 23 faculties and three art academies, the University of Ljubljana is the oldest higher education and scientific research institution in Slovenia. The University members faculties and academies are responsible for carrying out bachelor, master and doctoral programmes as well as lifelong learning programmes. Each year over 40,000 students upgrade and develop their knowledge and skills at the country’s largest educational institution. Furthermore, the University has been most successful in research and is therefore the central and largest research institution in Slovenia, with 30% of all registered researchers. It promotes interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies and exchanges its achievements in science and art with other universities and scientific research institutions. A particular concern of the University of Ljubljana is the transfer of knowledge to the economy, which is why it cooperates closely with Slovenian and foreign companies. Its partners include multinational corporations and top Slovenian firms.

University of Maribor

The University of Maribor is the second largest and the second oldest Slovene university. About 13.500 students study at one of the 17 faculties, where they are being taken care of by around 1.800 employees. It is turning into a central development institution in constant connection with the economy and, together with its partners, is creating a centre of sustainable development for the wider region.

University of Maribor is an autonomous scientific, research and educational institution with the purpose of discovering and nurturing knowledge as well as transferring it into the community through the all-connected fields of humanities, social sciences, engineering, economy, medicine, natural sciences, law, pedagogical sciences and arts. The faculties carry out undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes, as well as lifelong learning programmes.

According to international university rankings in recent years, the University of Maribor has been named among the top 3 percent of the world’s best universities. The Academic Ranking of World Universities (known as Shanghai Ranking) placed us among the world’s top 600 universities. The University of Primorska is a public educational institution founded in 2003. It is located in Slovenia’s coastal region, between the borders of Italy and Croatia in an officially bilingual region (Slovene, Italian) and Slovenia’s most ethnically and culturally diverse region.

Welcome programme for foreign students: Orientation days at the beginning of the Academic year, free Slovene language courses, and a strong tutoring system make integration in the new environment
Year Plus enables foreign students to adapt to the new system and language. Students who do not speak Slovene and are enrolled for the first time in a study programme conducted in Slovene, can focus on the study of Slovene, and having completed a total of 30 ECTS, they can re-enrol in the first year of study.
University of Primorska Scholarship Fund: UP is the only Slovene university offering scholarships to talented students.

New University

New University, new opportunities!

New University is a young, modern, and quality-guided private higher education institution established in 2017, with degree-awarding powers granted by the Slovenian government. Since its establishment in 2017, the New University has become an internationally recognised higher education institution with specific commitments towards high ethical and moral standards, democracy and the rule of law, and also the excellence of its study programmes and scientific and research work.

The New University fosters and encourages an education oriented towards problem-solving and critical thinking in all its bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral study programs, covering fields such as law, diplomacy, European studies, public administration, international relations, real estate management and infrastructure, sustainable development, alternative dispute resolution, and Slovene studies.
